INTERNATIONAL
JOSEPH STALIN

stalin_s.jpg (3410 bytes)J.V. Stalin was born on December 21,1879. Faithful disciple of Marx and Engels and the great comrade-in-arms of the immortal Lenin, Stalin made a great contribution towards socialism in the USSR and towards the development of world communist movement. He played an outstanding role in the struggle against tsardom and in the struggle against the forces of counterrevolution in the period of the civil war. After the death of Lenin, Stalin unflinchingly fought against right and left deviations and guarded the unity of the party. He died on March 5, 1953.

Of great significance for the development of Marxism-Leninism were several of the theoretical works of Stalin. These works which combined profundity of thought with simplicity of expression in a manner which has seldom been equalled, played an immense role in instilling socialist consciousness in the advanced workers and in rearing a whole generation of communists.

During the years of the war against the fascist Hitler’s army, the Soviet people learned to appreciate more fully the greatness of their leader, teacher, military commander and friend, Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin. It was Stalin that inspired the Soviet people to repulse the enemy, and it was he that led them to victory. Appraising the role played by the Soviet people in the fight against fascist invaders Stalin drew the highly significant conclusion that they had rendered a supreme service to mankind.

In the course of construction of socialism in extremely difficult historical conditions, a number of mistakes were committed by Stalin. Nevertheless, not with standing those mistakes, the name of Stalin will always he cherished by mankind as one of the greatest Marxists of all times and as a man who dedicated his life to the service of the working people and to the cause of socialism.
